Portugal Crushes Armenia with Nine Goals and Qualifies for the World Cup

Khaberni - Bruno Fernandes scored a hat-trick including two penalties to lead Portugal in the absence of their star Cristiano Ronaldo to a crushing 9-1 victory over their guest Armenia and qualifying for the World Cup finals in North America.

João Neves added another hat-trick in this big victory after Portugal dominated the match from start to finish amid the brilliance of its talents.

Ronaldo was absent due to suspension after being sent off for the first time in his international career during the team's 2-0 loss in Ireland last Thursday.

This was the first time Ronaldo was sent off in 226 matches with his national team.

This is the ninth time that the Portuguese team has qualified for the World Cup finals since their first appearance in 1966.
