Khaberni - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said: "We cannot abandon the phase of transforming Gaza into a demilitarized zone, and we will discuss this in the special ministerial council."

He added, "I do not know how long the ceasefire in Gaza will last."

This afternoon, Sunday, the head of the Israeli government, Benjamin Netanyahu, held deliberations in the reduced political-security cabinet about a third draft of the resolution proposed by the United States to the United Nations Security Council, which states that once the Palestinian Authority implements the required reforms and begins the process of rebuilding Gaza, "conditions might become suitable for a reliable path towards self-determination and the establishment of a Palestinian state."

Netanyahu and the coalition party leaders left the weekly government meeting following criticism from the ministers about the American draft resolution concerning "a reliable path towards self-determination and the establishment of a Palestinian state," which will be voted on by the Security Council tomorrow, Monday.

The meeting of the cabinet was also attended by the former Minister of Strategic Affairs, Ron Dermer, despite his resignation, as mentioned by the "Ynet" website.

"Ynet" noted that Israel is trying behind the scenes to introduce amendments to the American draft resolution through intensive contacts with the American administration.

At the beginning of today's government meeting, Netanyahu said, "Our opposition to a Palestinian state anywhere west of the Jordan River has not changed, and this opposition remains unchanged," adding, "I have been resisting these attempts for decades, both against external and internal pressures. Nor do I need support, tweets, or lectures from anyone."
