Khaberni - The Israeli Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamir, conducted a field tour in the Rafah area where he reviewed the operational situation and developments on various fronts.

Zamir focused on efforts to remove threats and enhance readiness for a rapid transition to offensive operations when needed, according to a statement by the Israeli army.

During his meeting with military leaders in the field, Zamir stated that the Israeli army operates in "a changing reality and multi-front challenges," adding: "We control more than 50% of the land in the Gaza Strip, without controlling the population. The yellow line forms an encirclement and control boundary, and we continue to work to prevent Hamas from gaining strength by controlling these areas and the gates of Gaza."

Zamir affirmed that the army is preparing for the possibility of launching a new broad offensive inside the Gaza Strip if requested, stating that the forces "continue to work along the yellow line to clear the area and enemy pockets."

The Chief of Staff mentioned that the Southern Command continues to carry out its mission "firmly", which is based on eliminating militants and destroying underground infrastructure while ensuring the security of the forces.

He continued, saying: "We will continue to insist that Hamas rule must not persist on the other side of the border. Even if it takes time. We will continue the mission of dismantling Hamas and disarming the sector through a settlement or military operation."

Zamir discussed the investigations of the events of October 7, explaining that he formed a panel of experts since assuming his position with the aim of “searching for the truth and leading an in-depth learning process and applying the lessons learned.”

He added: "We will not fear the consequences, we owe it to the army, and I owe it to you, the leaders. This is a heroic war, and the achievements in it are yours and thanks to you."

He affirmed that the events of October 7 will remain "engraved in memory," praising the army's accomplishments on all fronts during the war.
