Khaberni - His Majesty King Abdullah II and the Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari held talks on Sunday in Islamabad, the last stop of His Majesty's Asian working tour.
During the talks, which took place at the Presidential Palace, His Majesty expressed his pride in the relations between the two friendly countries and peoples, emphasizing the keenness to expand cooperation in various fields.
The talks, attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the King’s Chief Advisor for Religious and Cultural Affairs and his personal envoy, discussed developments in the Middle East and the efforts to achieve just and comprehensive peace according to the two-state solution.
His Majesty stressed the importance of all parties committing to implementing the agreement to end the war in Gaza at all stages, and enhancing the international response to the critical humanitarian situation.
In a related context, His Majesty emphasized the importance of Pakistan's role in supporting efforts to achieve a comprehensive calm in the region and ending the war in Gaza.
His Majesty warned of the dangers of continuing assaults on Palestinians in the West Bank and the violations against Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The Pakistani President awarded His Majesty the 'Nishan-e-Pakistan', the highest civilian honor in Pakistan, in recognition of His Majesty's efforts to deepen the relations between the two friendly countries.
His Majesty also awarded the Pakistani President the 'Order of the Renaissance', commemorating the bonds of friendship and deepening relations between the two countries and peoples.
The talks were attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi, the Chief of the Joint Staff Lieutenant General Yousef Al-Huneiti, the Director of the King’s Office Alaa Batayneh, and the Jordanian Ambassador to Pakistan Maan Al-Kharabsheh.
