Khaberni - Prime Minister Ja'far Hassan confirmed on Sunday, during his meeting with the president of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, Muhanad Hijazi, the government's support for the commission's procedures to seriously deal with any violations that hinder investment.
Hassan also confirmed that any investor facing violations or impediments will find that institutions of integrity, oversight, and fair justice are there to protect him, noting that he will personally follow up on this matter to ensure justice is achieved and anyone involved is held accountable, if proven, within the framework of the law and fair and just judiciary.
Hassan directed the concerned ministers to fully cooperate with the commission on any issues related to investors, explaining that it is the duty of institutions and officials to provide a supportive environment for investment and to offer facilitations to investors.
He said, "To the extent that we do not allow any official or entity to hinder investment, neither will we allow any investor to pressure decision-makers to achieve interests outside the framework of the systems and laws."
He added, "There is no leniency in applying the law against those who use power or exceed the law to hinder or disrupt investments."
On his part, Muhanad Hijazi, the president of the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission, said that the commission gives utmost importance to all investment-related issues to ensure integrity and justice and to protect the rights of investors and prevent violations against them.
He added that the doors of the commission are open to receive any complaints, and there is a special window to follow up on all issues related to investment and investors, dealing seriously and within the legal requirements with all the complaints received.
