Khaberni - Deputy Dr. Hussein Al-Amoush posed a parliamentary question to the Prime Minister regarding the statements of businessman Ziad Al-Manaseer, which indicated that he was subjected to pressure and extortion from some state officials aiming to appoint their sons and acquaintances in his companies.
Al-Amoush inquired in his official letter about the governmental measures that were taken to follow up on what was mentioned in Al-Manaseer's statements, and whether the Integrity and Anti-Corruption Commission had started investigating these claims, or if there was another oversight authority investigating the accuracy of these statements and their backgrounds.
Al-Amoush also inquired about the accuracy of previous reports related to attempts to exploit influence in appointments, the role of the government in preventing such behaviors that harm the investment climate, questioning the government policies adopted to regulate the appointment of sons and relatives of officials, and the extent to which there are clear mechanisms to prevent officials from interfering in the operations of private companies.
Al-Amoush concluded his questions by requesting clarification on whether the government had taken any legal or administrative actions against any official found to be involved in practices violating justice or equal opportunities.
These parliamentary questions come in the background of intriguing information about the Jordanian businessman Ziad Al-Manaseer, which revealed that he had been subjected to pressure and extortion by some officials due to his refusal of unprofessional appointments.
