Szczesny That One Moment That Broke My Heart

Khaberni - Polish goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny filmed a documentary about his life, narrating the most important moments of his football career, which led him to prestigious clubs such as Arsenal, Roma, Juventus, and currently Barcelona.

In a conversation with Arsene Wenger, the former coach of the British team, Szczesny recalls how hard it was to leave Arsenal.

The Barca goalkeeper recounted the moment when he was told at Arsenal that they no longer needed him, saying: "That was the only moment in my career that truly broke my heart.. I remember going home and bursting into tears."

Szczesny continued: "I wanted to move to Juventus because you made it clear that it was the best option at that time, and that I had to leave Arsenal."

In the documentary, the goalkeeper asks Wenger if his decision to leave Arsenal was made at that moment or two years earlier in Southampton, when he was caught smoking in the bathrooms.

Szczesny said to him: "I think you had made the decision two years ago, and whatever I did since then didn't matter." Wenger admitted that he had made the decision two years ago because he felt that the goalkeeper had become "comfortable."

The goalkeeper agreed with his coach, saying: "I really think I had become comfortable at that stage." However, he told him that two years later, when he was at Roma, the coach made a mistake "for not bringing him back," to which Wenger acknowledged this possibility, saying that he had made many mistakes in his career.
