Khaberni - According to the newspaper “Blick”, Swiss businessmen gifted the American President Donald Trump a Rolex watch and a gold ingot during a meeting where they sought to convince him to reduce the tariffs he had imposed on Swiss goods.
The newspaper reported that six Swiss billionaires went to Washington last Tuesday to meet Trump, where the delegation included heads of prominent companies, among them “Mediterranean” shipping company, “Partners Group” investment firm, “Mercuria” oil and gas trading company, Rolex luxury watch manufacturing company, “MKS Pamp” precious metals company, and the luxury group “Richemont” that includes such brands as “Cartier”, “Mont Blanc”, “Piaget”, and others.
The newspaper explained that Swiss businessmen “lavished gifts on Trump, for example, presenting him with an engraved luxury Rolex watch and a gold ingot inscribed with his name.”
According to the report, company heads proposed investing in the pharmaceutical and infrastructure sectors in the United States, and increasing their purchases from the U.S. aerospace industry, in addition to relocating gold smelting facilities to the American soil within a period ranging between 12 and 24 months.

The newspaper concluded its report by stating that Switzerland might be close to achieving a breakthrough in the issue of American tariffs, which were as high as 39%, anticipating a letter of intent in the coming weeks, paving the way for a potential agreement to be presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos this coming January.
