Khaberni - The teams and squads of the Greater Ajloun Municipality dealt with a number of observations and complaints during the unstable weather condition and the depression affecting the kingdom, received by the main and subsidiary operations rooms spread across the municipality's five areas.
The acting head of the municipal committee, Mohammad Al-Qudah, said that the municipality dealt with several reports and complaints about rainwater raiding a number of houses and the rising water levels on some streets. This also included the complete or partial closure of some roads due to the accumulation of soil, gravel, and silt which hindered vehicle movement.
Al-Qudah explained that by coordinating with the main operations room in the governorate, the Public Works Directorate, and the Joint Services Council, the field teams set up water barriers to prevent it from reaching the houses in the low-lying areas. Also, machinery worked on opening roads and removing all obstacles dragged by the water into the streets in various areas.
He continued, explaining that the field teams dealt with the cases of blocking some stormwater manholes and pumped water from the streets using the designated equipment to maintain normal traffic flow, especially in front of Ajloun University College and around Al-Iman Government Hospital.
He indicated that all area directors were instructed to monitor and address the faults using suitable technical methods as soon as possible.
The municipality urged not to hesitate to contact the operations rooms for assistance in case of any emergencies through the numbers previously announced by the municipality.
It is noted that the amount of rainfall that poured across the governorate since Thursday evening reached 49 mm in Ras Munif by nine o'clock on Saturday morning.
