Khaberni - The Iranian Revolutionary Guard announced on Saturday, the detention of an oil tanker in the waters of the Gulf after the ship suddenly changed its course on Friday in the Strait of Hormuz heading towards Iranian waters.
The issued statement from the Guard says, "At 7:30 am yesterday (4:00 GMT Friday), the rapid intervention units of the naval forces of the Revolutionary Guard, based on a judicial order, supervised the movements of the oil tanker Talara, which flies the Marshall Islands flag, intercepted it and detained it", noting that the ship "committed a violation by transporting an unauthorized cargo".
