Khaberni - The well-known Egyptian artist, Edward Fouad, fell victim to a sophisticated fraud operation, after transferring money to an unknown person who contacted him pretending to be his colleague Shady Khafaga.
Edward revealed that he was scammed a few hours ago, through a post on his Facebook account, warning his audience of electronic fraud.
Edward wrote in his post: "Guys, I was scammed out of money, this phone number sent me pretending to be the actor Shady Khafaga, saying he is desperate, has no job, can't find anything to eat, and I sent him money (via Insta Pay app), then he blocked me, and after contacting Shady it turns out he knew nothing, watch out now for scams in the name of artists."
Meanwhile, the artist Shady Khafaga announced that he is taking legal action against the impersonator, urging everyone who has experienced a similar situation to get in touch with him to gather the necessary information.
Shady Khafagi wrote on Facebook: "I received in the past few days that someone is impersonating me and is contacting people asking them for financial transactions in my name, unfortunately exploiting the kindness of Mr. Edward and facing an unacceptable situation."
He continued: "Anyone who has faced the same situation, please send me the details in a private message, because I'm gathering all the data and the legal actions have indeed begun."
