Earlier, the Syrian news agency "SANA" reported from a military source that the attack targeting areas in Damascus was carried out using missiles launched from a mobile platform, indicating that the entities behind the targeting remain unknown until now.
The Syrian Ministry of Defense confirmed in a statement that Damascus had been attacked by the fall of two "Katyusha" rockets launched from the outskirts of the city towards residential areas in the Mezzeh area and its surroundings, resulting in the injury of a number of civilians and causing material damage to the place.
The ministry added that it has commenced cooperating with the Ministry of Interior to investigate the circumstances of this assault, working on gathering the necessary evidence and identifying the trajectory of the rockets and source of the launch. It emphasized that it will not hesitate to pursue those responsible for this criminal act, and will take deterrent measures against anyone who compromises the security of Damascus and targets the lives and stability of Syrians.
