Shocking discovery 97 cannot distinguish between human and artificial intelligence music

Khaberni - A survey conducted by the French music streaming service "Deezer-Ipsos" on Wednesday revealed that 97% of listeners cannot distinguish between songs produced by artificial intelligence and those composed by humans, highlighting growing concerns that this technology could revolutionize the way music is created, consumed, and monetized.

The survey results shed light on the ethical and economic issues facing the global music industry, where AI tools capable of generating songs in seconds raise concerns about copyright and threaten artists' livelihoods.

This issue gained significant importance earlier this year when the AI-powered band "The Velvet Sun Down" created enough buzz to gain about a million monthly listeners on Spotify before people discovered its artificial origins.

The survey, which polled nine thousand people across eight countries including the United States, the United Kingdom, France, Brazil, and Canada, showed that about 71% of participants were surprised by their inability to distinguish between human and AI-produced songs.

Deezer reported that more than 50,000 songs uploaded daily on its platform are entirely AI-produced, representing about a third of the new songs introduced.

The company began tagging AI music earlier this year to enhance transparency.

Deezer's CEO Alexis Lanternier told Reuters, "We strongly believe that creativity is human-made and must be protected."
