Khaberni - The "New York Times" reported from two informed sources that the U.S. envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, plans to arrange a meeting soon with Khalil Al-Hayya, a leader in the Hamas movement.

An informed source told the newspaper that the ceasefire in Gaza will be one of the topics that Witkoff intends to discuss with Al-Hayya. The exact date of the meeting remains unclear according to the "New York Times" sources, and there is a possibility of plans changing.

The newspaper said that such a meeting confirms the Trump administration’s maintenance of a direct line of communication with Hamas, despite the U.S. designation of the movement as a terrorist organization.
