Khaberni - The United Arab Emirates has confirmed that the tragedies committed in Sudan conclusively prove that there is no military solution to this civil war.

Jamal Al Musharakh, the Permanent Representative of the UAE to the United Nations and other international organizations in Geneva, stated in the main speech of the country at the 38th special session of the Human Rights Council, regarding the human rights situation in Al Fasher and its surroundings, in the context of the ongoing conflict in Sudan, that "the Quad statement" reached under the leadership of the United States, offers a clear roadmap for ending the conflict through a humanitarian truce leading to a permanent ceasefire, and transition to an independent government led by civilians not controlled by the warring parties.
He explained that the UAE condemned the attacks against civilians by the Rapid Support Forces in the Al Fasher area, and those carried out by the warring parties throughout Sudan, calling on both the Sudanese Armed Forces and Rapid Support Forces to immediately halt all attacks against civilians, which constitute a blatant violation of international humanitarian law.

He said: "The warring parties must allow unimpeded access to humanitarian aid, and the international community must ensure accountability for those responsible for these atrocities, without exception. Unfortunately, the warring party represented in this session continues to launch random attacks on markets, villages, and hospitals, while the people suffer from famine, ignoring international calls for a ceasefire, thereby prolonging the conflict, and using humanitarian aid as a weapon," confirming that these acts are not new, as this party has previously sheltered terrorists and provided protection for individuals accused of committing genocide.
He added that the UAE reaffirms its firm stance and solidarity with Sudan, from the darkest moments to the most hopeful, saying: "We have recently pledged an additional $100 million to support urgent humanitarian operations in the Al Fasher area, and we confirm our full readiness to exert more efforts to support the humanitarian response."
