Khaberni - Professor Oxana Bevovarova indicates that potassium is necessary for efficient heart function, as it is a major nutrient that provides effective protection against heart muscle deterioration.
She recommends including apricots, bananas, strawberries, and currants in the diet. However, she warns that some of these fruits are high in sugar, so they should be consumed in limited quantities, especially by heart patients.

She adds that other sources of potassium include nuts, liver, and low-fat dairy products (with no more than 1% fat).

Magnesium, on the other hand, is an important mineral for the elasticity and strength of blood vessel walls and can be sourced from legumes, carrots, strawberries, avocados, and grains like buckwheat, oats, and wheat.

Professor also emphasized the importance of omega-3 fatty acids, which improve the contractile function of the heart muscle, reduce harmful cholesterol, and preserve the body's energy balance, particularly important when following a dietary regimen. Primary sources of omega-3 include salmon, tuna, and olive oil.

For meats, she recommends choosing lean meats such as beef, veal, rabbits, and chicken, with skin and subcutaneous fat removed. Spices and seasonings should also be used moderately, to avoid any adverse effects on the digestive system, heart, and blood vessels.
