Khaberni - In Florida, American security forces arrested an 11-year-old child after he prepared a written list of threats targeting his school peers in the city of Deltona.
The authorities charged the child with a criminal offence for making a written murder threat, while the Volusia County Police confirmed that the child did not possess any weapons during the incident, according to "The Sun" newspaper.
The Deputy of School Resources confirmed that legal procedures were initiated immediately upon discovering the list, while video clips posted by the police showed the child being taken out of the police car in handcuffs and being placed into a cell, sparking widespread controversy among social media users.
Some followers expressed their support for the Volusia police's firm application of the law, while others criticized the posting of the child's photos online, considering it an abuse of a child who has not yet reached eleven years old.
The authorities mentioned that the number of school threats has recently decreased, however, the Sheriff of Volusia County, Mike Chitwood, emphasized that any threats of this nature would be criminally pursued immediately, regardless of the perpetrator's age.
School officials clarified that investigations are ongoing in cooperation with the Sheriff's office, and communication with parents is being conducted directly to ensure case follow-up and support for affected students.
