Khaberni - The counter-terrorism units in Aleppo province, in collaboration with leaders of the internal security, successfully arrested the criminal "Mahmoud Ali Ahmad", a jailer at Sednaya prison, based on an arrest warrant issued by the public prosecutor after intensive search and investigation operations.
The initial investigations revealed that the criminal began his service in the prison's special guard unit, before later being appointed as a jailer at what is known as "the Red Prison" inside Sednaya, where he was proven to be involved in carrying out field executions, transferring bodies of detainees who died under torture, and burying them in mass graves, in addition to participating in the torture of several detainees.
The criminal was referred to the public prosecutor to complete the investigations, in preparation for transferring him to the competent court to take the necessary legal actions against him.
The Ministry of Interior confirms its ongoing efforts to follow up and pursue anyone proven to be involved in violations, and to ensure the law is applied against them.
