Galaxy S26 Ultra Price May Significantly Increase Over Previous Generations

Khaberni - Recent reports indicate that the manufacturing costs of the Galaxy "S26 Ultra" will significantly increase from the previous generation, with the processor at the heart of this rise, accounting alone for 46% of the total phone cost, according to a report by the tech site "WCCFTech".

The report also states that producing the Galaxy "S25 Ultra" used to cost Samsung $523 in terms of technical components in the phone, including the processor, screen, "memories" (Memories), and the battery.

The cost of the processor alone used to reach $190, which represented 36% of the total cost of the components in the phone, but "Qualcomm" has raised the price of the new generation of the processor "Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5" to $280 per piece.

If the price of the other components does not increase, this rise alone would bring the manufacturing cost of the phone up to $613, with the processor representing 46% of the total component cost.

While Samsung previously avoided Snapdragon processor prices by launching its phones in some markets with its own "Exynos" processors, the recent deal it signed with "Qualcomm" forces it to use Snapdragon processors in all its phones until 2030.

This is because Samsung signed a deal guaranteeing it exclusive access to Qualcomm processors and obliges it to use these processors in all its flagship phones released in all markets until 2030.

Also, the deal ensures Samsung early access to Qualcomm's new technologies such as sixth-generation networks and others.

Furthermore, the deal obliges Samsung to pay a $16.25 user fee for the use of its other leading technologies in each phone it sells that uses the company's processors, significantly increasing the cost of the processor for Samsung.

It is also expected that the prices of random access memories used in the phone will rise concurrently with the increase in prices of all types around the world, putting additional pressure on Samsung to raise the phone price in order to maintain its profit margin steady.
