Khaberni - Egyptian artist Sherine Abdel Wahab officially filed a report against her brother Mohamed Abdel Wahab, accusing him of harassing her over recent family disputes.
According to local media, the report requested an official pledge from her brother to not harass or disturb her in the future, in order to protect her personal and legal safety.
These new developments are an extension in a long series of crises between Sherine and her brother over the last years. The disputes began in October 2022 when the artist's lawyer filed a complaint against her brother, accusing him of assaulting her and forcibly admitting her into a mental health hospital, before the crisis ended with reconciliation and the investigations being shelved.
In June 2024, tensions arose again after Sherine filed a complaint accusing her brother of exploiting an old power of attorney she had signed to manage her accounts and digital properties without permission, explaining that he took advantage of her health and psychological condition at the time.
But signs of reconciliation appeared in September of the same year when Sherine posted on her "X" platform account a photo with her brother and publicly apologized to him, stating that he was right and that she had not listened to his advice previously.
Mohamed responded with a friendly statement saying, "You are my older sister and my second mother.. and I only distanced myself to preserve my dignity," before confirming in October that the disputes had ended after she distanced herself from a person who had caused tension between them, hinting at her ex-husband Hossam Habib.
However, the relationship between the two did not last long, as disputes resurfaced on the surface again in November of this year with Sherine filing a "no harassment" report against her brother, thus continuing her family crisis amid police reports and public prosecution investigations.
