Palestinian Youth Reveals Rape by a Trained Dog in Occupation Prisons

Khaberni - The Palestinian youth A. A., aged 35, reported that he was subjected to physical, psychological, and brutal sexual torture by the Israeli occupation forces during his detention in the Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza City in March 2024, where he spent 19 months under extremely harsh captivity.

-Unprecedented sexual assault by a trained dog
A. A. explained that the torture included complete stripping, foul abuse, and continuous threats to him and his family, before he was subjected to an unprecedented sexual assault, where a trained dog raped him inside the Sde Teiman military prison. He said: "I was taken to a corridor away from surveillance cameras, and completely stripped naked. The soldiers brought the dogs, and the dogs mounted me, and one of them raped me in a calculated manner, knowing exactly what it was doing. All this happened under the beating of the soldiers and the spraying of pepper gas on my face, and the process continued for about three continuous minutes."

A. A. added that the sexual assault was part of a long torture session that lasted about three hours, including severe beating and continuous insults, which resulted in a severe laceration on his head, bruises on his limbs, and a broken rib cage, in addition to a severe psychological impact that left him in a state of continuous shock. He said:
"I could not believe that what was happening to me could happen in a lifetime. I felt greatly humiliated and lost my nerves, and I started dreaming of death to avoid what I was going through."

The Palestinian Center for Human Rights: A systematic policy that requires international action
The Palestinian Center for Human Rights confirms that these violations are not isolated incidents, but are part of a systematic policy of humiliation and torture in Israeli occupation prisons, targeting Palestinians to break their will and impose permanent fear on them.

The Center called on the international community, including the United Nations and human rights bodies, to take immediate action to put an end to these violations, release all arbitrarily detained Palestinians, and enable human rights institutions to access all detention facilities unrestrictedly, to ensure the safety and protection of detainees from torture, rape, and humiliation.
