Khaberni - The performance of an Israeli band in a concert that included singing songs by Umm Kulthum, the Star of the East, stirred discontent and outrage among her family, considering it an exploitation of the late artist's voice and image without permission.

Jihan Al-Dusuqi, Umm Kulthum's granddaughter, said in televised statements that her grandmother's artistic legacy remains a global inspiration more than half a century after her death, describing her as "the fourth pyramid of Egypt".

Umm Kulthum's granddaughter categorically rejected the holding of any concerts in Israel with her grandmother's voice, stating: "No and a thousand no to Israeli concerts with Umm Kulthum's voice, because all of Egypt rejects this."

On his part, Yasser Qantoush, the lawyer for the family of the Star of the East, confirmed that broadcasting the late singer's songs in Israel constitutes a violation of intellectual property rights, emphasizing that these rights are inherent to the creator and do not expire over time, and should not be exploited without an official permit from the owning company, which has not protected these rights. Qantoush added that the family will take necessary legal actions against any party violating the law.

According to the Israeli newspaper "Maariv", a band called "Al Noor Orchestra" is preparing to hold a series of concerts in Israel to mark half a century since the passing of Umm Kulthum. During these concerts, singer Violet Salameh will perform some of her most famous songs, which has been met with wide rejection and public outrage across social media platforms in Egypt.
