Khaberni - The Egyptian Acting Profession Syndicate denied what has been circulated on some social media platforms in the past hours regarding the death of the prominent actor Mohamed Sobhi, confirming that what is being circulated is completely false.
This came after users circulated a fabricated press design featuring the photo of the artist Mohamed Sobhi and the date of his death, which led some artists, including Reham Abdel Ghafour and Badriya Tolba, to post obituary messages on their official accounts, before they quickly deleted them after confirming the falsehood of the news and the circulation of the syndicate's statement which emphatically denied the rumor.
The syndicate clarified in an official statement that the esteemed artist is in stable health condition, receiving the necessary medical care, wishing him a speedy recovery and continued brilliance and creativity.
The syndicate also emphasized the importance of verifying the accuracy of news, especially those affecting the lives of artists, warning against falling for rumors that cause concern among the public and the families of artists.
The syndicate confirmed that it is the only official body authorized to issue statements related to its members, urging media outlets and social media users to verify information from reliable sources before circulating it.
Artist Mohamed Sobhi reassured his audience through a statement from his media office, affirming that he is in good health and improving day by day after suffering a health setback that led him to the hospital.
He explained that he is undergoing some routine examinations to ensure well-being, expecting to leave the hospital within a few days, expressing his dismay at the rumors that follow him on social media, urging respect for truthfulness and not pursuing the "trend" at the expense of the reputation of artists.
In related news, the syndicate announced its official nominations for the state awards for 2026, in appreciation of art icons who have contributed to enriching cultural and artistic life in Egypt and the Arab world.
Among the nominees for the State Appreciation Award in Arts is the artist Mohamed Sobhi, in recognition of his long career and contributions to developing theatre, drama, and cinema.
