Khaberni - The filming of the new Syrian-Lebanese series "Governorate 15" will start in the coming days, featuring a joint drama collaboration that gathers a selection of artists from both countries, in preparation for its airing in the Ramadan season of 2026.
The series is presented in the context of a social drama mixed with subtle political satire, written by Lebanese writer Karine Rizkallah who also plays the leading role, directed by Samir Habsha, and produced by "Marwa Group" for producer Marwan Haddad.
The events of the series take place in various regions of Lebanon, where filming operations will begin within days, involving a group of stars including Karine Rizkallah, Adnan Abu Al-Shamat, Hassan Khalil, Yorgo Chalhoub, Nour Ghndour, Lama Lawand, and Haitham El Masri.
The title of the series has triggered widespread interaction on social media since its announcement, as many saw it as a satirical symbol of the intricate relations between Syria and Lebanon at various levels, often marked by skirmishes and disputes that usually end in a satirical manner, with some considering Lebanon to be the "new governorate" of Syria, which has 14 governorates.
"Governorate 15" represents one of the latest joint projects between Syrian and Lebanese drama, which has seen an increasing presence on the Arabic scene in recent years, following the success of previous works like "Fire with Fire," which featured Abed Fahd, Caris Bashar, and George Khabbaz and achieved widespread viewership.
