Khaberni - Former Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney spoke candidly about deals he sees as failures in the ranks of the English club.
The former striker referred in "The Overlap" show to 3 failed deals with Manchester United.
Rooney said, “The previous deals were catastrophic, weren’t they?.. They just signed big names, look at Lukaku, Zlatan, and Pogba, they are good players but the club only signed prominent names and spent huge amounts.”
He continued, “It will take some time to overcome these mistakes, when you look at what has happened at Manchester United over the last ten years, you find that some players were treated poorly, now that the team has achieved some results, you can see a gradual return of confidence, the coach needed these results as well."
He added: "You can see he has become more confident, and the team's condition is gradually improving, there has been a clear improvement, and I think we will see progress as players get to know each other better."
He added, “I would like to see Bruno Fernandes more on the field, and January will be interesting to see if they can convince players to come, and give them that little push they need to try to qualify for Europe, or to finish the season within the top four or five in the Champions League."
He continued: "We are gradually seeing better signings, we have to be realistic, and ask ourselves, will they win the league? No, they will not win, is it possible to end the season within the top four or five? We are witnessing coaching improvement."
