Khaberni - The Apparel, Footwear, and Fabric Traders Union warns of exploiting the "Black Friday" events in local markets, calling on the Ministry of Industry and Trade to intensify oversight on price reductions to ensure that commercial shops comply with instructions and do not exploit consumers.
The union explained that the timing of "Black Friday" in the Jordanian market is inappropriate, as this event is globally held at the end of the season, not the beginning, which limits its commercial impact in the local market.
The union also emphasized the need to establish clear controls to regulate discounts and promotional offers, in a way that balances the interests of traders and protects the rights of consumers.
The union pointed out that the demand for winter clothing remains low due to the temperatures not dropping yet, indicating that the volume of clothing imports for the current winter season is estimated at about 20 million dinars, compared to 25 million dinars last season.
