Khaberni - Brazilian soccer star Oscar collapsed due to heart problems during a performance test at his club Sao Paulo on Wednesday evening.
The veteran player (34 years old) received treatment on the spot before he was transported to the hospital for further examinations, according to his club, while local media revealed that he collapsed while riding an exercise bike and lost consciousness for a brief period.
Shortly thereafter, Oscar thanked his fans for their support, writing on his personal Instagram account: "Thank you very much for the messages and prayers. Everything will be alright."
Oscar, who has recently suffered several injuries, is contracted with Sao Paulo until the end of 2027, and Brazilian media are now speculating that he might end his career before that date.
After making his debut as a professional with Sao Paulo, Oscar played in the English Premier League with Chelsea between 2012 and 2016 before moving to Shanghai Port in China.
Oscar participated in 48 international matches with the Brazilian national team, notably scoring the lone goal in the infamous match where the "Samba Dancers" lost 1-7 to the German team in the 2014 World Cup held in Brazil.
