Khaberni - A recent global report revealed that the number of social media (social media) users in Jordan has risen to 6.8 million users as of the beginning of this month, with an increase of 5.4% over a year.
According to the data in the report, this figure represents the number of active Jordanian accounts across various social networking sites, noting that a single user may have multiple accounts on different platforms or more than one account on the same platform, but it counts the people and not the number of accounts available to them across platforms or on a single platform, according to Al-Ghad.
The data in the annual report issued by the global platform "Data Reportal" stated that the number of social media platform users in Jordan increased by 350,000 active users, with a rate of 5.4% compared to the number of users during the same period last year, which was about 6.45 million active users.
In the details of the report, the number of internet users in Jordan at the beginning of this month was about 10.6 million users, with a penetration rate of 92.5% of the total population of the Kingdom.
Regarding the number of users of various social networks in Jordan, the report stated "YouTube network owned by 'Alphabet' is the most used social media platform in Jordan with about 6.8 million active users of the network, with an increase of 5.4% compared with the number registered during the same period last year".
The report noted that the second largest network used in Jordan is “Facebook,” owned by the global company “Meta,” with about 5.6 million users at the beginning of this month, and an increase of 3.7% compared to the number of users of the network registered during the same period last year.
The report confirmed that the number of users of the “Instagram” network, owned by the global company "Meta," as of the beginning of this month, was about 4.6 million active users, with a growth rate of 16.7% compared to the same period last year.
The report stated "At the beginning of this month, the number of users of the 'Snapchat' platform was about 4.2 million active users, while the number of users of the 'LinkedIn' network was 2.2 million users, and the number of users of the 'X' network or formerly known as 'Twitter' was about 800 thousand users".
