Khaberni - The Pentagon denied that the United States is planning to establish a large military base near the Gaza Strip, as reported by "Yedioth Ahronoth" from a senior American official.

A spokesperson for the US Department of Defense stated that these "reports are inaccurate," confirming that "the possibility of deploying American forces in the Gaza Strip is not on the table."

The official emphasized that when the American army participates in planning discussions with international partners, any American forces will not operate inside Gaza, according to his statement.

Israeli media had reported that Washington was preparing to build a military base that may cost about 500 million dollars near the Strip.

It is noted that about 200 American soldiers are currently stationed at the Coordination Center in Kiryat Gat, responsible for overseeing the ceasefire agreement and humanitarian aid to Gaza.
