Khaberni - In a qualitative move reflecting the strategic orientation towards globalization and academic excellence, Jordan University of Science and Technology signed three cooperation agreements with Temple University in Pennsylvania, one of the prestigious research universities in the United States.
The agreements were signed during an official visit of the university delegation to Philadelphia, where Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Salem, President of Jordan University of Science and Technology, and Professor Dr. David Boardman, President of Temple University, signed the agreements.
The visit included a series of meetings with deans of medical and engineering faculties, and the administration of Temple University Hospital, to discuss prospects for joint academic and research cooperation between the two sides.
The first agreement included general cooperation between the two universities in research and educational fields.
The second agreement included a dual degree program for bachelor and master degrees, which serves as a pioneering model in international academic cooperation, aiming to enable students of Jordan University of Science and Technology to undergo a global educational experience by studying three years at the university for programs that last four years, or four years for programs that last five years, then moving to Temple University to complete an additional two years according to the (3+2) and (4+2) systems. Upon completing the program, students are awarded a bachelor's degree from Jordan University of Science and Technology and a master's degree from Temple University, enhancing their academic and research competitiveness both locally and internationally.
The third agreement included a transfer program for bachelor's students, allowing students who have completed two academic years for four-year programs, or three academic years for five-year programs, to complete their studies at Temple University and obtain a bachelor's degree from it, with the benefit of special discounts on tuition fees.
Professor Dr. Khaled Al-Salem confirmed that these programs represent a true translation of the university's vision in internationalizing education and opening global horizons for students, noting that the partnership with Temple University is not just academic cooperation, but an investment in the future of Jordanian youth and empowering their creative energies.
On his part, Professor Dr. David Boardman expressed his pride in this partnership, affirming that it reflects the strength of the academic programs at Jordan University of Science and Technology and Temple University's confidence in its outputs, expressing Temple University's eagerness to welcome distinguished students who contribute to enriching its educational environment and enhancing the areas of joint research between the two institutions.
