Not Better Than China Trump Attacks France

Khaberni - American President Donald Trump, suddenly attacked France on Monday, in a television interview, saying that Washington faced "a lot of problems with the French."

Fox News anchor Laura Ingraham asked the American President about Chinese students joining American universities saying: "They are not the French, they are the Chinese. They are spying on us. They are stealing our intellectual property," but Trump interrupted her saying: "Do you really think the French are better? I'll tell you, I'm not sure about that."

Trump, who is waging a trade war against Beijing, maintained a close relationship with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron characterized by warm handshakes and pats on the back. Macron also called Trump directly in September to tell him he was stopped on the street by the American presidential motorcade while on his way to a meeting from the United Nations headquarters in New York.

However, this relationship had its tensions, such as Trump's opposition to France recognizing the state of Palestine, and Paris's policies on climate. The American President also pressured Europe to increase defense spending through NATO, while Macron was part of European efforts to win Trump's support for military support for Ukraine against Russia.

In his interview, Trump also discussed French tax policy, which he considered a problem for the United States. He said: "We have faced a lot of problems with the French, as unfair taxes are imposed on our technologies."
