Khaberni - Mazloum Abdi, the commander of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), said on Tuesday that he had a phone conversation with the U.S. special envoy to Syria, Tom Barrack, to discuss the results of the meeting between Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shar'a and his American counterpart Donald Trump at the White House.
Abdi renewed in a post on his "X" account his commitment to accelerating the integration of the Syrian Democratic Forces into the Syrian state.
He stated that Syria's joining the international coalition against ISIS (terrorist) represents a pivotal step towards enhancing joint efforts and supporting initiatives aimed at achieving the permanent defeat of the organization and eliminating its threat to the region.
Abdi continued, "We are working diligently with our partners and in close coordination to move forward towards a more prosperous and secure future for our people in a united Syria."
He expressed his gratitude to President Trump for leading the Syria file, and for giving the Syrian people a chance to achieve "greatness."
Abdi announced in October 2025 the reaching of a "preliminary agreement" with the Syrian authorities regarding the mechanism of integrating his forces into the Ministries of Defense and Interior, noting that talks are currently ongoing between the two parties in Damascus.
Abdi and Syrian President Ahmad Al-Shar'a signed a deal on March 10, which included several clauses, chief among them the integration of the civil and military institutions of the Kurdish Autonomous Administration into the national institutions by the end of the year. However, differences in viewpoints between the parties have prevented progress in implementing it.
