Khaberni - -The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip said there are 6,000 recorded amputation cases in need of urgent and long-term rehabilitation programs.
The ministry added in a statement today, Tuesday, that it estimates the proportion of children among the total amputation cases at 25%, and the percentage of women at 12.7%, explaining that the lack of medical facilities and auxiliary tools increases the suffering of people with limb amputations.
The ministry stressed that these numbers reflect a deep human suffering experienced by thousands of injured individuals and their families, highlighting the urgent need for rehabilitation services and psychological and social support, especially for children who find themselves facing permanent disabilities at an early age.
The Ministry of Health called on all international and humanitarian organizations and institutions working in the field of health and rehabilitation to intensify their efforts and expand their urgent interventions to cover the needs of the injured, and enable them to obtain the necessary care, in proportion to the scale of the humanitarian disaster that the Gaza Strip is experiencing.
