Khaberni - The Jordanian Relief Campaign has commenced, in partnership with the Hashemite Charity Authority, the distribution of winter covers to affected and displaced families in the Gaza Strip, within the framework of early preparation for the winter season and the additional challenges it brings to the population.
The coordinator of the Jordanian campaign, Nour Al-Najjar, stated in a press release on Tuesday that this distribution represents "the first initiatives within the winter campaign that had been announced by the campaign before the onset of winter, and is part of an ongoing aid program for a full month, aiming to provide the minimum warmth and protection for the most affected families."
She affirmed that the work teams are dealing with humanitarian needs with utmost seriousness, and that the campaign came as a direct response to the increasing distress calls with the drop in temperature.
On his part, the media coordinator of the campaign, Suleiman Al-Farra, emphasized that the partnership with the Hashemite Charity Authority “reflects the unity of humanitarian efforts in facing the harsh conditions experienced by the people of Gaza.”
Al-Farra said: “We are facing a dual challenge with the cold and the difficult living conditions, and therefore we make sure that aid reaches those who deserve it quickly and efficiently. The people of Gaza deserve to feel safe and warm, and we are working on this with all the capabilities we possess.”
This effort coincides with the escalating role that Jordan has recently been playing in the humanitarian scene towards the Gaza Strip, through air bridges, medical, and relief support, and intensifying field supply operations.
The Jordanian campaign coordinates directly with the Hashemite Charity Authority, which is considered Jordan's leading relief arm, working on organizing the entry of shipments, providing logistical support, and facilitating the delivery of aid to distribution centers within the sector, ensuring the smooth operation and covering as many needy families as possible.
