Minister of Tourism Refuses to Exempt Haifas Concert from Taxes

Khaberni - The Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Dr. Imad Al-Hijazin, rejected a request from a tourism office to exempt the artistic concert performed by Lebanese artist Haifa Wehbe in Amman from taxes and fees.

According to the document, Al-Hijazin directed not to approve the exemption from income and sales tax, indicating that the current instructions do not allow granting tax exemptions or incentives for concerts or festivals held within the kingdom, unless they achieve clear economic or tourist returns.

According to the document, Al-Hijazin added that exemptions are subject to specific conditions coordinated with the Ministry of Finance, and are only granted after studying the feasibility and the extent to which the event contributes to stimulating tourism activity and increasing hotel occupancy rates in the hosting area.
