Khaberni - A woman named Futo Al-Subaie confessed to leaking an audio recording of the Kuwaiti artist Elham Al-Fadala, which led to her being referred to the central prison for a period of 21 days pending an investigation for insulting Kuwait.
Al-Subaie, who is reported to be a close friend of Al-Fadala, confirmed that she posted the audio recording that sparked widespread controversy on social media and caused a legal and social crisis for the Kuwaiti artist.
The clip included phrases that many considered offensive to Kuwait, prompting the public prosecutor to move and issue an order for Al-Fadala's pre-trial detention as part of state security cases.
The recording was widely recirculated within hours, prompting an urgent investigation to determine the authenticity of the voice attributed to the artist, and to examine the possibility of digital manipulation of the clip. The spread of the recording coincided with Al-Fadala's sudden absence from her social media accounts, increasing public speculation about her legal status.
The investigation indicates that the recording is said to date back to 2021, and although Al-Fadala emphasized her love and loyalty to Kuwait in it, some of its content spurred wide controversy that necessitated urgent legal actions.
Al-Fadala had previously denied rumors about the withdrawal of her Kuwaiti nationality during a live broadcast on "Snapchat," affirming her deep roots in Kuwait and her family’s membership in the founding families since the eighteenth century, and rejecting the accusations rumored about her.
