Khaberni - In late September, winter was coming warmly… the earth was flowing, and the sky was smiling, as if the clouds knew their appointment with purity. The smell of rain was mingling with people's laughter, and hearts were purer than springs. A neighbor would ask about another before asking about himself, and the young would slow down their steps out of respect when passing by the elders… It was a beautiful time, abundant with warmth even if there was little money.
But something changed.
The rain stopped for a long time, as if the sky mourned for us. The earth no longer drank, for hearts had hardened. We began to see the forbidden and did not renounce it, we heard the false and kept silent about it, we turned a blind eye as if we could not see. Everything was permitted, even errors were called freedom, and the wrong was justified as a "point of view".
We forgot that the rain is mercy, and that mercy descends only upon merciful people.
We moved away from religion, from honesty, from modesty… and so the blessing of the sky moved away from us.
Rain was never just water, but a message from the Lord of the Worlds saying:
"If you purify your hearts, you purify your land, and if you amend what is between you, I will open my blessings upon you from the heavens and the earth."
Let us return as we were, before the roses in our gardens wither, and before the clouds close their doors.
Let us restore faith to its place, and respect to creation,
Perhaps the sky will smile again… and rain on our hearts before our lands.
Oh God, revive in us the purity of hearts as you revive the earth after its death
