Khaberni - The Minister of Government Communication and official spokesman, Dr. Mohammed Al-Momani, confirmed that the political, economic, and administrative modernization projects represent the state's vision in its second centenary to enhance the comprehensive national reform and modernization process led by His Majesty King Abdullah II, emphasizing that this process is based on partnership and openness to various political and economic components of the society.
This was stated during a dialog session in the Karak governorate, this Monday evening, attended by the former Minister of Government Communication Dr. Mohand Al-Mbaideen and the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Government Communication Dr. Zaid Al-Nawaiseh, along with a crowd of journalists, intellectuals, and dignitaries of the governorate.
At the beginning of his speech, Al-Momani explained that the royal directive following the last royal visit to Karak governorate emphasized field communication with the sons of the governorates and listening to their opinions, stressing that this Hashemite approach in communication forms the core of the relationship between the state and the society and reflects the depth of mutual trust between the leadership and the people.
Al-Momani stated that political modernization forms a main pillar in the comprehensive national project, pointing out that this path aims to build a party life based on programs and institutional work, expressing the aspirations of Jordanians and providing realistic solutions to their issues.
He added that the 2024 elections were a pivotal station in this path, being the first practical application of the new election and parties laws, and they laid the groundwork for a new phase in the Jordanian democratic experience, by allocating 41 party seats out of 138, which enhances the gradual transition towards program-based governments.
In this context, Al-Momani pointed to the government's efforts to launch a broad national dialogue about the local administration law during the upcoming period, as this law represents a fundamental pillar in the next democratic stage, confirming that strong local administration represents the natural extension of political modernization at the level of governorates and elected councils.
He said that the purpose of updating the local administration law is to enhance the governance of municipalities and their financial discipline, which reflects on improving the quality of services provided to the citizens.
In the economic aspect, Al-Momani confirmed that the government is moving forward in implementing the Economic Modernization Vision 2023–2033, which is the national framework to achieve balanced development, explaining that the second implementation program (2026–2029) will be launched soon under the royal patronage and includes dozens of initiatives within eight main growth engines.
Regarding the developmental and service efforts in Karak governorate, Al-Momani mentioned that there are projects that were presented in the first field cabinet session held about a year ago in Karak governorate, adding that the Karak cable car project, which came by royal directive, will contribute to enhancing tourism activity and providing new job opportunities, along with projects to develop infrastructure and roads, and the operation of the Unified Government Services Center, which offers dozens of services in one location.
He also pointed out that the Hussein bin Abdullah II Industrial City has attracted 16 new projects after the approval of the latest government incentives, which contributed to providing employment opportunities and supporting the local industrial sector.
Al-Momani confirmed that Karak governorate represents one of the models in participation and awareness, and that political, economic, and administrative modernization projects are integrated towards a single goal of a strong modern state with its institutions and citizens, based on a clear royal vision that believes reform is an ongoing journey that renews with generations.
Al-Momani concluded saying: The government is proceeding to enhance its communication with the governorates through direct meetings and open dialogue, translating the directions of His Majesty the King on the necessity to listen to the citizens and involve them in formulating development priorities and national policies.
