Hebrew Report The Next War with Lebanon Closer Than Ever

Khaberni - In his report, the military correspondent for the Hebrew newspaper "Maariv" believes that the upcoming war with Lebanon is "closer than ever," explaining that the Israeli army suspects that "Hezbollah" will attempt to attack its forces.

Maariv reported that "the Israeli army continues to exert pressure on Hezbollah in southern Lebanon, where at least three Hezbollah fighters were eliminated earlier today (Saturday), noting that in the first instance, an aircraft belonging to the air force killed an armed man from the Radwan force while he was riding in a vehicle near the village of Aynata near Bint Jbeil in the central sector of Lebanon."

A source in Israel told the newspaper that "the Israeli army acted to eliminate the armed man who was described as a local activist in Hezbollah. Israel has not yet officially confirmed the death of the armed man in the attack as claimed by Lebanese reports."

Before noon, the Israeli army, led by Division 210 and using the air force, attacked the area of the village of Shebaa in southern Lebanon, declaring it "killed two members of the Lebanese Saraya being directed by Hezbollah," claiming that the targets "were involved in smuggling combat means used by the party."

According to the report, "Hezbollah is trying in recent days to change the reality in southern Lebanon, and it appears to be seeking to enforce a limited combat movement, aiming to change the understandings of the agreement with Lebanon and the Lebanese government's desire to disarm the party."

The Ministry of Health announced today in its statement the death of 3 people and the injury of 11 others, due to 3 strikes conducted by Israeli drones on cars in southern and eastern Lebanese towns.

According to Maariv, "the Israeli army suspects that Hezbollah, fearing a full-scale escalation, will try to attack its forces. The Israeli army is already preparing for this possibility, not only defensively, but also offensively."

The report clarified that "the Israeli army has prepared a bank of targets for attacks that includes multiple Targets and multi-story buildings in the suburbs of Beirut, targets in the Beqaa Valley, as well as Hezbollah targets north of the Litani River. In such a case, the Israeli army intends to deliver a harsh blow to Hezbollah and deny it the heavy capabilities it has built over the past decade."

For its part, Hezbollah affirms its complete commitment to the ceasefire and calls on the government and the guarantors of the ceasefire agreement, which came into effect in late November 2024, to press Israel to stop its violations, where the Israeli army carried out more than 7,000 air breaches and 2,400 actions north of the Blue Line with Lebanon, constituting a source of great concern, according to the spokesperson of the United Nations peacekeeping forces "UNIFIL" Danny Gavri.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese scene is experiencing significant tensions after Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam announced the army's task of developing a plan to confine weapons to state control by the end of this year, while Hezbollah stated that the government's decision to disarm the resistance "constitutes a clear constitutional violation and will be treated as if it does not exist," stressing that maintaining Lebanon's strength is one of the necessary measures.
