Khaberni - The Hashemite University won two awards in the fourth session of the Hussein Fund for Economic Research Awards for the year 2025, which is organized by the Hussein Fund for Innovation and Excellence in collaboration with the Central Bank of Jordan.
Omar Arabiyat and Hashem Sherafat from the Department of Accounting in the College of Business won an award in the field of monetary policy for their research: "Monetary Policy and its Impact on the Jordanian Financial Sector: Dynamics of Financial Technology, Digital Economy, and Green Economy."
Ibrahim Al-Khatatneh from the Department of Finance won an award in the field of the financial and banking sector for his research: "Institutional Ownership and Commonalities in Liquidity: The Case of the Amman Stock Exchange."
The Dean of the College of Business, Waad Al-Nasoor, said in a statement from the university on Monday that the achievement comes within the framework of the university's strategy to support scientific research linked to national priorities, which constitute a pillar in the comprehensive development system and contribute to the production of applied knowledge that enables economic growth and provides government and private institutions with practical solutions that enhance paths of progress and innovation, in addition to encouraging publishing in peer-reviewed international journals which contribute to establishing the university's academic and economic status locally and internationally.
The Hussein Fund for Economic Research Awards aim to support applied research in priority areas for the Jordanian economy and to enhance collaboration between researchers in Jordanian universities and institutions and the Central Bank of Jordan.
The awards are granted in five main areas: monetary policy, banking sector, green economy, labor economics, and financial technology, and include an honorary shield, a certificate of appreciation, and a financial reward.
