Khaberni - Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, during his meeting with the Russian Security Council Secretary, Sergei Shoigu, requested him to deliver a special message to Russian President Vladimir Putin.
El-Sisi sent a message to Shoigu asking him to convey his greetings to his counterpart, Vladimir Putin, emphasizing that Cairo highly values its relations with Moscow.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi affirmed Egypt's support for all efforts aimed at reaching a peaceful resolution to the Ukraine crisis.
The statement mentioned that President El-Sisi “expressed Egypt's keenness to support international initiatives aimed at achieving comprehensive peace in Ukraine, encouraging dialogue as the sole means to resolve disputes between the concerned parties, according to the principles of the UN Charter and international law”.
In return, Russian Security Council Secretary Sergei Shoigu valued the balanced and responsible Egyptian stance towards the Ukrainian crisis, and stated during the meeting: "We appreciate Egypt's wise stance, and we personally value your efforts to mediate a peaceful resolution of the crisis, a position that reflects political maturity and an effective regional role."
