Khaberni - The UN rapporteur on the occupied Palestinian territories, Francesca Albanese, said that evidence shows the torture of Palestinian prisoners from Gaza since February 2024.
In a press statement on Monday, the rapporteur confirmed that Israel remains unaccountable for these crimes.
The "Guardian" newspaper published an exclusive report revealing that Israel has detained dozens of Palestinians from Gaza in an underground prison called "Rakifet", where prisoners are deprived of sunlight, adequate food, and any contact with their families or the outside world.
The report is based on testimonies from lawyers of the Public Committee Against Torture in Israel (PCATI), who visited the prison and spoke to two of the civilian prisoners.
It confirms that many of the prisoners are entirely civilians, and Israeli courts extend their detention in brief video sessions without the presence of lawyers, justifying this with the phrase "until the end of the war".
