Khaberni - The Al-Ahliyya Amman University team achieved a significant and qualitative accomplishment in the 2025 IEEE Jordan Cybersecurity Challenge hosted by Amman Arab University; the university team won second place among both public and private Jordanian universities, and first place in the Advanced Web (Web Advance) category.
The competitions saw remarkable participation from more than 25 Jordanian universities, forming over 100 student teams competing in various fields to test their cybersecurity skills. The qualifying round started on Friday, October 31, advancing the best teams to the final round held on Thursday, November 6, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 5:30 PM at Amman Arab University.
The competition was jointly organized by:
IEEE Jordan CS & CIS Joint Chapter
and IEEE Jordan Cybersecurity Group,
and was hosted by the IEEE branch at Amman Arab University, aiming to hone students' skills in cybersecurity realms and improve their readiness to protect systems and handle advanced technical challenges.
The university team was supervised by Prof. Mohammad Al-Qatawneh, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Ahmad Sami Al-Shamayleh, teacher Nidaa Al-Shafei and cybersecurity analyst Hussein Al-Zaghatit.
The university participated with two teams from the College of Information Technology, including: Mohammad Khader Abu Khas, Amer Salameh Al-Assaf, Shahin Hassan Al-Sabani, Harad Hakob Muradian, Ayham Al-Masri, Tariq Abdul Ghani, and Noureddine Al-Azzam.
This achievement confirms Al-Ahliyya Amman University's advanced standing in the field of cybersecurity, reflecting the high level of students and academic staff in national and regional specialized competitions.
