Khaberni - U.S. Pardon Attorney Ed Martin announced that President Donald Trump signed a decree pardoning dozens of people accused of involvement in the 2020 U.S. election.
The pardon decree, which was published on Ed Martin's "X" platform page, states: "This official announcement represents the end of a grave national injustice inflicted upon the American people following the 2020 presidential election... Under this, Donald Trump grants a full and unconditional pardon... The list of those pardoned includes, but is not limited to: Trump’s former lawyer and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, and former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows."
It should be noted that a grand jury in Arizona indicted a group of Trump's close associates in April 2024 for alleged interference in the 2020 elections. According to the documents, the list included at least 11 people including Giuliani, who were alleged to have attempted to "overturn Trump's defeat."
On January 6, 2021, Trump supporters, as his first term was nearing its end, stormed the Capitol building to obstruct the certification of the November 2020 election results, leading to widespread arrests.
The events of January 6th were a reason for an attempt to impeach Trump, and were one of the chapters of the trial accusing him of trying to overturn the election results. Immediately after his inauguration in 2025, Trump signed a decree pardoning about 1500 people convicted of storming the Capitol, and promised to invite them to the White House.
