Khaberni - The security forces, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the General Corporation for Food and Drug, closed an unlicensed olive mill in the province of Irbid with red wax, after seizing about 100 tanks of counterfeit olive oil, which were prepared for sale as "extra virgin oil". Meanwhile, the tests revealed to Khaberni that it was mixed with low-quality vegetable oils and enhancers.
The raid followed complaints from citizens about the quality manipulation of the oil, where its source was traced and limited quantities were retrieved before their consumption. According to the investigations, the offending mill was caught for the third time, which required taking strict legal actions against those in charge, and transferring the case to the competent judicial authorities.
The Director of Agriculture in Irbid, Abdul Hafiz Abu Arabi, according to Khaberni, confirmed that the monitoring teams work around the clock to monitor the oil pressing operations, while he urged citizens to test the oil in agricultural laboratories and to make sure to purchase from trusted sources only, warning against misleading advertisements and unreasonable prices.
