Khaberni - King Abdullah II met on Monday with representatives of Japanese companies and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry to discuss enhancing economic and investment cooperation between Jordan and Japan.

The King emphasized the importance of building on the strategic partnership between the two countries and expanding cooperation in the fields of technological transformation, agriculture, logistics, food manufacturing, textile industry, transformational industries, mining, chemical industries, and energy, especially among companies and private sector institutions.

Speaking about Jordan's investment advantages, His Majesty pointed out that the Kingdom represents a prime destination for Japanese companies, given its strategic location, trade relations, and growing industrial base, highlighting significant potential in manufacturing industries and re-exporting, particularly in the private sector.

The King highlighted the importance of enhancing the participation of Japanese companies in various economic sectors in the Kingdom, noting the potential for Jordan to serve as a gateway for these companies to regional and global markets.

The King affirmed that Jordan is progressing with its economic modernization vision, aiming to enhance economic growth and expand investment opportunities across various sectors.

On their part, representatives of the companies and the Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry at the meeting expressed their keenness to explore new cooperation horizons with Jordan and capitalize on its strategic location in the Middle East.

The meeting included CEOs and representatives of leading Japanese companies operating in trade, investment, energy, natural resources, minerals, chemicals, artificial intelligence, textiles, and food.

The meeting was attended by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi, the Director of His Majesty's Office, Alaa Batayneh, the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Zena Toukan, the Jordanian Ambassador to Japan Nasser Al-Judeh, and the Japanese Ambassador to Jordan Hidetaka Asari.
