Trump Plans to Name Washington Stadium After Himself

Khaberni - Media reports state that U.S. President Donald Trump wishes the new stadium for the "Washington Commanders" football team to bear his name, a step to be added to a series of projects carrying the "Trump" commercial brand.

The site The Touchline reported that Trump wants to name the new stadium in the capital city of Washington, which costs $3.7 billion, after himself.

It mentioned that the White House commented on the matter by saying: "It would be a great idea."

According to the same source, the project involves constructing a modern covered stadium at the site currently occupied by the Robert Kennedy Stadium on the east side of Washington, D.C.

It added: "Plans are underway to construct the new domed stadium in the capital city of Washington at an estimated cost of about $3.7 billion to serve as the main stadium for the Washington Commanders competing in the American Football League. The stadium is expected to accommodate about 65,000 spectators when it opens, anticipated in 2030."

Meanwhile, White House spokesperson Carolyne Levitt told the network "ESPN": "That would be a great name, as President Trump is the one who made building the new stadium possible."
