Syrian Stars Present Turki AlSheikh with a Damascus Heritage Sword

Khaberni - The Saudi capital Riyadh witnessed a meeting that brought together the head of the General Entertainment Authority, Turki Al-Sheikh, with several of the most prominent Syrian art stars, in an artistic evening that embraced symbols of Syrian drama from different generations.

Al-Sheikh organized an extended meeting that lasted about three hours with a group of Syrian artists who have left a mark on the memory of Arab drama, including Duraid Lahham, Yasser Al-Azmeh, Mona Wassef, Sabah Al-Jazaeri, Nadine Khouri, Jamal Suleiman, Ghassan Masoud, and Saloum Haddad.

The meeting was also attended by Ayman Zeidan, Abbas Al-Nouri, Rashid Assaf, alongside a large group of young stars such as Tim Hassan, Qusai Khouli, Basel Khayat, Caris Bashar, Amal Arafeh, and Suzan Najm Al-Din.

Turki Al-Sheikh mentioned that some of the stars are meeting for the first time in more than fifteen years, in an atmosphere dominated by nostalgia and mutual appreciation.

During the meeting, Turki Al-Sheikh received a special gift from the Syrian capital represented by a traditional Damascus sword, crafted by the artisan Fayad Al-Saiyufi, who is the last to continue making the famous Damascus swords in Syria.

Al-Sheikh expressed his gratitude for this symbolic gift, describing it as "holding a significant moral value that expresses the depth of the relationship between the Saudi and Syrian peoples," and noted that it represents a symbol of the rich Syrian heritage that still remains present in the Arab memory.

The head of the General Entertainment Authority mentioned in earlier statements that the Riyadh Season 2025 will prominently feature Syrian content in its events, explaining that this step comes as an appreciation for Sham’s art that enjoys a wide audience in the kingdom and the Gulf.

He added that the return of cultural and artistic cooperation with Syria represents a new openness that includes supporting Arab creators in various fields.
