Khaberni - In a step that confirms the commitment of the Jordanian Women Parliamentarians Forum to the principle of transparency and public responsibility, the president of the forum, Dr. Tamara Nasser Al-Din, announced the publication of the annual report for the year 2024 - 2025, which documents the most prominent activities and achievements of the forum at both the legislative and community levels during the year.
Nasser Al-Din said that this report stems from the transparency that the forum insists on in its work, adding: "We believe that it is the right of the citizens to be aware of what we are doing, and that accountability begins from within the elected institutions themselves. This transparency is an expression of our respect for public opinion and enhances people's trust in women's parliamentary work."
The report explained that the first year of the forum witnessed qualitative activity, combining networking and capacity building and fieldwork aimed at enhancing the role of Jordanian women in decision-making positions and empowering them legislatively and socially, where the forum held (5) primary meetings including the establishment of the forum, the election of its administrative body, the adoption of the annual work plan, and the review of achievements, in addition to networking meetings with the Jordanian Businesswomen and Professionals Forum and the representatives of the northern and southern provinces to follow up on field priorities.
The forum also implemented (11) training and dialogue programs focused on developing legislative, leadership, and media skills, with prominent workshops on national strategies for women, digital safety, gender-responsive budgeting, and climate justice, in addition to practical programs in legislative drafting and advocacy.
In the field aspect, the forum conducted (4) field visits to various institutions and areas including the Southern Jordan Valley, Al Hussein Social Foundation, and Princess Taghreed Foundation in Jerash, with the aim of addressing women's issues and directly listening to their challenges and raising recommendations to the relevant governmental entities.
The report pointed out that the forum enhanced its media presence through the publication of (35) media materials, which contributed to highlighting its role as a supportive umbrella for female leaders in the parliament and society.
Nasser Al-Din concluded her statement by saying: "This report does not represent the end of a phase, but rather it is the beginning of an ongoing path of women's parliamentary work based on partnership, accountability, and openness to society. We will continue our efforts to raise the voice of Jordanian women and enhance their presence in influential positions and decision-making."
