Khaberni - AC Milan, a competitor in the Italian Football League, plans to strengthen its attack line in the upcoming winter transfer market by contracting an experienced striker.
The Italian site "Calcio Mercato" dropped a bombshell when it confirmed that Milan is targeting Polish striker Robert Lewandowski of Barcelona to join the team in January 2026.
According to the site, the corridors of Milan are currently witnessing deep discussions on how to strengthen the team in January, indicating that the position of a true striker is the most controversial.
AC Milan officials met with Pini Zahavi (Lewandowski’s agent) in recent days to discuss the possibility of signing the player who "represents the perfect model of guaranteed experience to lead the team to the top."
Despite being in third place in the Italian league standings with 21 points, one point behind leader Napoli (before the start of the 11th round matches), Milan's offensive record is considered very weak, as the team only scored 15 goals in 10 matches.
Milan aims to leverage its good relationship with Lewandowski’s agent, yet things seem challenging as the Polish striker is completely focused on winning trophies with Barcelona this season, as reported by the Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo".
The newspaper stated that "the possibility of Lewandowski leaving Barcelona mid-season is almost impossible."
It revealed that there is a verbal agreement between the player and Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, deciding that Lewandowski will continue with the Catalan club at least until the end of the current 2025/2026 season.
On the other hand, the reliable Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Lewandowski does not plan to leave Barcelona in the coming January.
Romano wrote -via his official account on the X platform- that "Lewandowski does not plan any transfer in January, as his desire and focus are on finishing the season with Barcelona."
He concluded, "There are real and significant chances of his departure in the summer of 2026 in a free transfer."
Lewandowski’s standing at Barcelona has declined at the start of his fourth season with the team, as he has become a bench player and left his place in the starting lineup to his teammate Ferran Torres.
Since the start of the 2025/2026 season, Lewandowski has played in 11 matches across all competitions for Barcelona, totaling only 479 minutes, and has only completed 90 minutes in 3 games.
During all the matches, Lewa scored 4 goals and did not provide any single decisive pass to his teammates according to data from the famous site "Transfer Market".
